Katherine,

Can't imagine what the problem with peppermint would be.  In fact, its
most common use is to treat nausea and digestive problems.  Back in the
"olden days", many babies were given very weak peppermint or spearmint
tea to relieve colic.  I never had much problem with colic in my babies,
but my husband drank a lot of it for a while for a stomach problem.  If
any of you herbologists know differently, please let us know.  I used to
grow a lot of herbs and use them in many ways, but I am no expert in the
field.
