This morning I heard the Norrington version of the overture to Il Signor
Bruschino in which Rossini instructed the violins were to tap their bows
against the tin reflectors for their candle stands.  Not only do I suspect
that this version did not use HIP candle stands, I think they may have
tapped on non-HIP music stands!
