1 mite per 300 bees in an alcohol wash is equal to 100 mites in a 30,000
bee alcohol wash (300x100=30,000).

It is a rough order of magnitude becasue it assumes a lot including equal
distribution for the alcohol wash and 100% drop and capture from an OAV
treatment. The key is that the sight of a large mite drop from an OAV
treatment has to be put into the perspective of what you would get from an
alcohol wash, which is what most use as the treat/can wait standard for
mite treatment.
