Wasn't aware there was any major change, looks like they are shifting
toward insurance rather than direct payment, but am I wrong that corn is
still subsidized?

Still in the educational thread so I think its all good. No, price subsides
are gone completely on row crops (except cotton to my knowledge)
Some may claim that they are still in place as there is a "subsidy program"
for the crop insurance payments. I would argue that's not true since no
money is actually paid out to farmers, but the base price if the ins.
rated differently and the checks are actually cut to the insurance
companies.
