<pre>I have tried different kinds of escape boards with limited success. 
Today, I paint my fume boards black and set them in the sun before setting
it on top with any of the repellents.  Heat helps.  In five minutes most
bees are gone from a medium super and I use a blower to remove the
stragglers.  Chasing the bees down before blowing the supers clear keeps
the number of confused flying bees down.  Works well for me.</pre>
