Today's Washington Post has both front-page and Health section articles on
the debate in the US Food & Drug Administration's debate over adding DHA to
infant formula.  (DHA is not permitted as a formula additive in the US; it
is added to formula in Europe and Asia.)  The statement that formula is
"safe and nutritious," while not as good as breastmilk, is repeated
throughout both articles, sigh.  I did appreciate one scientist's comment
that simply throwing stuff together in a non-natural mix is not the same as
having it naturally available through breast milk.  Duh.  The articles are at:
