Maybe i need to clarify what I am talking about. The CLC from UCLA is
very involved. It takes 4 - 4 day weekends over a year. There hasn't
been a program for several years. There is one ongoing now. It is held
only in LA. In addition to the classroom & reading assignments, one is
involved in a preceptorship of 24 weeks/6 hrs/wk.
What I am talking about is the Lactation Counselor one receives after
completing the 5 day program through Health Education Associates. The
knowledge one needs when coming is very basic.
>Our local hospital is currently planning a CLC training for staff nurses
=
I really don't think that this program is comparable to the UCLA CLC
program.
Warmly,
Sylvia Boyd, CLE, PT, LCCE
