Wow, Marie, what a wonderful testimonial to the power of one person in our
lives. LLL is rich with these stories, but yours has got to be one of the
most dramatic! Thanks very much for sharing this with us.

I fully agree that many of us don't really know how to give ourselves over
to our babies. We're very worried about intimacy and control, and these
attitudes get in the way of truly enjoying our kids. I've seen such amazing
transitions in women attending LLL meetings over the past 18 years I've been
involved. Peer support is incredibly powerful, and I don't think LLL markets
itself well enough in this aspect of what it does so very well.
Breastfeeding information is important, but being surrounded by women who
really know how to mother, as well as breastfeed, is much more valuable,
IMO.
