I received a very unusual call yesterday regarding a mother of a 5 day old
infant put on Percocet for pain with an infected Cesarean incision site.
When she took the first dose, the infant became blue...not stopped breathing
but actually turned Smurf-like blue. The physician involved stated its a
rare but noted side-effect and took infant off breast milk and has mom
pumping and dumping. Has anyone heard this before? I can find no references
that list the bluish color change related to use of Percocet. TIA
