Just an update on this episode...infant turned blue within 2-3 hrs. of first,
and only, dose of Percocet.  Pedi immediately changed mom's med to Tylenol #3
(and continued to tell her to pump & dump...UGH, ongoing battle with this
pedi, obviously).  Infant is no longer bluish color, 36 hrs. post situation.
 And I agree, this is definitely a sacrifice on the alter of ignorance.  I,
too, advocate for watching this infant very closely; no heart murmur detected
as of yet, and no apnea spells (other than mine when mom told me her baby
turned blue!!).
