My first, a boy weaned at 12 months, didn't feed any of his toys. My second
son, weaned at 18 months, breastfed his teddy and my third, a daughter,
breastfed everything from spoons wrapped up in washers (flannels) to look
like a doll to proper dolls. Long after she'd weaned a little friend was
over to play and was pretending to bottle feed her doll and my daughter
looked at her in disgust, pulled up her t-shirt and said, "That's not how
you feed a baby. This is the way" Bless her little heart.
