I would also like to know about this information, because I have been
given the same advice - to take progesterone if periods are more than 3
months apart.  I was amenorrheic for 16 months while breastfeeding, but
I thought that was normal and protected against breast cancer.  My
"babies" are 5 now and are weaned so it wouldn't affect breastfeeding.
