I find that telling the mothers that their standard regime "works for
many mothers, but may not be working for you right now...... you may need
to temporarily change things a bit until they smooth out......" can help.
Rather than suggesting a permanent change in management, pitch the
situation as possibly temporary, and also emphasize that every
mother/baby dyad is different and that we must sometimes individualize to
the couple. You can also "beat her to the punch" by finding some way to
bring God into what you are doing, perhaps a comment such as, "isn't
God's flexibility wonderful? To think that He treats us all with this
individuality----- it makes me feel so special!"  Don't discuss the
curriculum at all, just plant seeds.  :-)
