Maple Syrup Urine disease is only tested for in some states - yes there is
variation from state to state. All 50 test for PKU and hypothyroidism but all
others vary. IN NJ we also do galactosemmia and hemoglobinopathies (such as
sickle cell) An excellent review article of newborn screening in in
COntemporary Pediatrics in the last 2 years or so Title is "Newborn Screnin"
and it is written in English, not medicalese
