MaryAnn O'Hara MD MPH had a lovely abstract/poster at the 2012 Academy of
Breatfeeding Medicine conference about her research into persistent blebs,
and her research using punch biopsy (!) to study them, and the use of
steroid creams as treatment.

The ABM Protocol on Mastitis cites to this work when describing
predisposting facgtors for mastitis:  "White spot on the nipple or a
blocked nipple pore or duct: milk blister or ‘‘bleb’’ (a localized
inflammatory response)." [footnoote dite to  O’Hara M-A. Bleb histology
reveals inflammatory infiltrate that regresses with topical steroids; a
