I don't think it was quite clear that the piece that Eva Hoebee and Jennifer Kennedy were quoting was a blog post from Alison Hazelbaker. For those of you new to the field of lactation, Alison is the author of the Hazelbaker assessment tool, the Hazelbaker finger feeder, and THE book on ankyloglossia. She is also a longtime experienced IBCLC with significant experience using bodywork to address many breastfeeding problems. Alison has a lot of knowledge, experience, and wisdom. She raises some very important points.
My 2 bits: While submucosal tie is real, it is also very rare. A lot of people seem to have forgotten that a posterior frenulum is part of normal anatomy, and the existence of a posterior frenulum is not the way to diagnose submucosal tie. 
A big concern is that the enthusiasm to blame nearly all breastfeeding problems on PTT is creating a lot of problems--
*missed opportunities to find the true solution to babies' breastfeeding problems.
*infant pain and huge numbers of babies with oral aversion who can't get back to breast, or take days or weeks or months getting there.
*and a lot of physicians who have stopped referring breastfeeding problems to IBCLCs because they can no longer trust LCs to protect the babies.  And those who won't believe in anterior tie because of the rush to judgement on posterior.
