We run monthly computer generated data reports on the mothers' and babies'
charts.  The mothers' data is collected on feeding intent upon admission and
taken from the L&D admission form.  The babies' data includes feeding intent
upon admission to the nursery (exclusive breastfeeding, formula and
breastmilk, or formula only) and whether the baby received any formula or
not.  We exclude babies admitted to Special Care Nursery at any time during
the admission and those given formula for a medical reason.  Ask your IT
person to help you set up the reports and it's so easy.  I used to collect
all this data by hand.
