Hi Debbie,

<<<<<Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions to offer for a
mother who is desperately trying to wean her 19 month old son. >>>>

I feel for this mom.... I recall holding my toddler, sobbing in my
arms, laying across my chest when I decided I had to stop nursing
through the night.Comforting your grieving child with compassion and
love is not the same as complete refusal and crying it out.

I suggest sports bras or other clothing which makes access difficult.
Avoiding their "spot" or chair can help. Everytime I sat in my
recliner, my nursling came running!

Perhaps if she can limit how often he nurses she will be better able
to cope with a part-time nursing toddler.

Nursing through a pregnancy is difficult. I found the nipple pain
excruciating. I also found LLL meetings an important part of my being
able to continue to nurse. Being forewarned of the visceral need to
get away from my nursling helped me not feel like a horrible mother.
"Mothering Your Nursing Toddler" is a great book which may help this
mom.

All the best to this mom, she is lucky to have your support.
