I am newly educated, thanks to several posts on the creepiness of products sold to cater to our vanity and our insecurity about our appearances.  I did know that hair dye was dangerous, did not know that hair straighteners are in the same category.  Now I can add 'concern about environmental toxins' to the reason I don't use a lot of skin care or cosmetic products.  And here I thought it was plain old laziness and thrift.

At the same time I would hate to scare someone into weaning if she had a permanent or colored her hair.  :-(

So many things to be scared of, one hardly knows where to begin sometimes.
