I've removed a colony of bees from the same house 3 years in a row now.  I've perform complete and thorough removals but the scent of a nest just keeps drawing in new swarms each season.  This uninsulated house has many cracks in the cedar shingles making for convenient entrances.  I packed the cavities were I removed the colonies with lots of fiberglass insulation and sealed the entrances shut but the bees just move into adjacent areas! 

I feel sorry for the home owners and was wondering if there is a non-toxic substance that can be deposited after the colony is removed to make the location unattractive to new swarms.

Would like to hear all your ideas/experiences!
