Hello,
My name is Nancy. I live in Canada & I have a 10 wk old baby boy.
I came across this list while dsoing a search to increase my breast milk
supply. I am hoping that I might be able to get some muxh needed help from
other moms.
What I have found that has happened to me is my Dr put me on the Evra
birthcontrol patch as he knew that I was breast feeding & he has been a
great supporter of my breastfeeding. The problem is that with in a week I
noticed that my milk supply was dropping. I thought that maybe it was
because I was bartending some private parties for Christmas @ the very most
2x's per week. During the hours I worked, my husband woulkd bring in my son
so that iI could feed him. It was not until later that I realized that it was in
fact the birth control that my Dr put me on that was wreaking havoc on my
supply. Since then I have gone to the health food store & started taking
breastfeeding tea, brewer's yeast & blssed thistle. It appeared to keep my
supply around but not increasing it at all. I went to my Dr & informed him of
everything that I did to increase the supply, etc. So he changed my bc, & put
me on donperidone to increase my supply. Thing of it is, I have quite a bit of
a supply for my son in the morning, but it seems to disipate by noon & he
screeches with hunger pangs by afternoon /evening. I have been feeding him
as often as he is willing to nurse & pumping in between. I am wondering if any
of you may be able to help me out here. I enjoy the time that my son & I
spend together when I feed him & I hate the idea of loosing out on the special
time that we spend together when he feeds. Any & all help would be greatly
appreciated. Thankyou.
