Hi All,

I am running an experiment with a mom I wrote about a week or so ago. She
has agreed to be my test subject for me and to test the differences between
the PNS Advanced and the Symphony with the new 2.0 card in it. This mom has
had one heck of a time getting milk in a timely manner and has needed to
pump in order to maintain her milk supply as her baby is still dealing with
suck issues at 7wks of age (he is progressing nicely tho with suck training
techniques and Bowen Therapy due to a really traumatic birth that messed up
his poor little body like you would NOT believe!).

At any rate - she will be using the Symphony on one breast and the PNSA on
the other - simultaneously. She has one breast that has always produced
less and has not flowed as easily as the other - this one she will use the
Symphony on. The other breast she will continue to use the PNSA. She will
try reversing this a time or two and see if there is a difference.

Has anyone else done this? I truly have very little experience with either
of these pumps - the bulk of my experience being with the Classic and
Lactina. Since I am now renting the Symphony and selling the PNSA I figured
I'd better really know how they stack up against each other - especially
because I get so many calls from moms who want to use the PNSA as if it were
a Hospital grade pump.

Maybe I am not looking in the right places but can anyone tell me the full
detailed difference between these two pumps that have the same features?
(other than the new 2.0 computer chip - which is really cool!)

On a side note - I tried many of the suggestions made by you wonderful
people out there with this mom - some helped her a little bit - but nothing
spectacular. However - I think someone mentioned this - but am not sure so
if you did thank you! - we tried starting her pumping tonight for about 7
minutes - 2 min on the let down phase and 5 on the regular. Then we
switched the pump off and turned it back on again to get the let down phase
again - and pumped for another 7 minutes total - then repeated this
procedure one more time last time being about 3 minutes. So total pumping
time of 17 minutes - she included breast massage while pumping. The 2nd and
3rd times she switched over to the let down phase she got a burst of milk
she wasn't used to getting! She was able to pump the same amount in 17
minutes that usually takes her 30+ to get with LOTS of massage and just
waiting. This was an experiment we tried and it worked! Hopefully this
info will help others out there experiencing similar irritations. :-)

Looking forward to any one else's input re: Symphony vs PNSA. Also, I am
wondering what peoples thoughts are on the Lactina vs the Symphony. Most
moms really want the Symphony and I am tempted to rent those only.thoughts?

Thank so much for all your help!

Warmly,

Jaye
