I think we are straying a bit "off topic" and in danger of provoking people
who really don't deserve to be provoked.
I can give you an example of one patient I asked to find another
practitioner. The mother filed a malpractice suit against me regarding one
child, and one week later tried to make an appointment for a well child
visit for another child. Her point of view was it was just about the money,
and she still wanted me to care for her children. I could not do that. And
my premiums cost one third of my income last year because of her.
I think overall it is a very unusual circumstance...of course there are a
few "bad apples" out there who I am sure do it all the time. I do not
understand why they would still have patients at all...but then our
healthcare system is extremely dysfunctional...which is ALSO off topic : )
