I think we are straying a bit "off topic" and in danger of provoking people who really don't deserve to be provoked. I can give you an example of one patient I asked to find another practitioner. The mother filed a malpractice suit against me regarding one child, and one week later tried to make an appointment for a well child visit for another child. Her point of view was it was just about the money, and she still wanted me to care for her children. I could not do that. And my premiums cost one third of my income last year because of her. I think overall it is a very unusual circumstance...of course there are a few "bad apples" out there who I am sure do it all the time. I do not understand why they would still have patients at all...but then our healthcare system is extremely dysfunctional...which is ALSO off topic : ) Kathy Leeper, MD, IBCLC MilkWorks- Lincoln, NE *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(R) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
