Today our local Australian Breastfeeding Assoc region participated in an event called "Kids Day Out" It's basically a children's expo where providers of services for children (like music classes, child health stuff, education providers etc) have stalls. We have participated in KDO for a number of years but usually we spend most of the time talking to one another. This year we decided to do something different. We had a couple of table's space and we put out our brochures etc but we also put signs behind us inviting people to ask us questions and had A4 posters with example questions on them. We also had a big bowl full of chocolates (individually wrapped) and a sign in front saying "Answer a question to win a chocolate" We had 20 or so questions and they needed to pull a number out of a bag and then we would ask the question. They had to get the question right to get a chocky but they could keep picking out numbers until they got one right. We had questions that covered what we thought were important pieces of info for people to know. Examples

It worked exceptionally well. We had people coming up and asking if they could answer a question, we had kids dragging their parents across so they could answer and most importantly people were happy to talk to us and ask questions themselves. We were busy all day!!

I think that this sort of set up might also work well in settings where the "customers" are health care professionals.
