  Lara, I do agree with you and even would like to sharpen it a bit. Feed baby the freshest milk first, always. It is not a store were FIFO (first in first out) is the credo (my daughter works in a supermarket as a ''stock filler'' and that's what's pumped into her mind daily :-)  ). Baby's must get the best food available at that time. I really don't think freshly frozen and well cared for human milk does expire within the year, speaking in terms of bacteriologic safety. It may loose more and more quality, but will stay to be superior to all alternatives.
   
  I do know of many mothers that think FIFO. They freeze all their pumped milk and have the baby be fed with the oldest frozen milk. educating moms about freshest first is a healthier choice than educating them about loss of anti-oxidants in their weeks or even months worth of frozen milk.
