I hadn't realized until recently that the swaddling craze has spilled over to night-time.  Some babies are in their parents' bed swaddled.  Seems to me this removes much of a baby's ability to respond if he starts to get squashed.  From what I've heard, most parents sense this, and unswaddle at bedtime, but not all do.
