I can't speak to the other questions about milk supply after weaning, but
one possibility would be a prolactinoma (benign pituitary microadenoma which
causes the release of excess prolactin). The first step would be a blood
test for elevated prolactin level; if found, probably an MRI to confirm
existence. Treatment is usually drug therapy, either bromocriptine (more
typically) or cabergoline. Hope that helps.
