I have some personal experience w/ this: my now 14yo did a nursing strike at
about 9.5 mos. I was ignorant and figured he was weaning. At that time I
didn't know anyone who had nursed that long. In retrospect I was using too
many bottles and advancing the solids too quickly, as advised by the doctor.
My supply was getting low as a result.
I was heartbroken and kept offering the breast for days but I was not
expressing. Seems obvious now to keep the supply going, but I didn't know it
then. Also was trying to get him to sleep longer stretches and in a crib,
abandoned this in a few days in favor of family bed, again didn't
know/understand about true attachment parenting, started to learn it then
(Read Continuum Concept). But, Can you blame him for his rebellion?
