>Summary: Readers are smart. They can figure it out. Besides,
>AAP needed the money.

That's a pretty good summary. I think the imporant thing
to look for is whether AAP changes its policy around this
issue. It may not happen right away, there is some face saving
that has to happen, but I hope it happens in the not too
distant future.

There is one other thing found interesting in the article:

>Speaking on behalf of Ross Products, a unit of Abbott Laboratories,
>Dr. Mary Beth Arensberg said, "We are certainly in agreement that
>breastfeeding is the gold standard for nutrition. Our goal in
>**developing** these materials is to really provide the best education
>possible to healthcare professionals and parents," she added.

I find interesting that Dr. Arensberg spoke of Ross "developing"
the materials. Everyone has been very careful to say the Ross had
nothing to do with the content, and yet she appears to be taking
ownership of it. There are other words she could have chosen such
as "distributing materials"
Am I being overly sensitive here?
