Stacy,
In response to your inquiry about estrogen, I would like to suggest that it
might be a much better thing to seek a natural progesterone cream. I have
been studying Dr. John Lee's information regarding natural progesterone and
it is amazing the difference my clients are feeling on that rather than
synthetic HRT which includes progestin. Most doctors link synthetic
progestin as the same as progesterone. That is a huge error! Natural
progesterone (made from the wild Mexican yam)is great for osteoporosis and
is helping many women regain their libido. I'm not sure about use during
breastfeeding. In the last trimester, a woman is producing 400mg. per day
naturally. It has been suggested that the sudden drop of progesterone could
exacerbate post-partum depression. I am starting to investigate its use in
the case of ppd. rather than anti-depressants. In a dose of 20-40 mg./per
day it has no known side effects. It is however, helping with headache,
sinus, bloating, etc. I do know that women are seeing drastic changes in
their bodies when they use a progesterone cream. The ironic thing is that
there is no money to be made so the pharmacutical companies avoid it. Ray
Peat,PhD gave a presentation over 20 years ago about the role of natural
progesterone in human health and was critical of the medical profession for
ignoring this important issue. Now we still ignore it and the few doctors
that advocate its use are being deluged with women who want to learn more.
My OB/GYN here in Jacksonville is seeing women from all over Florida and has
been advocating its use for 3 years with amazing results. So how does this
tie into lactation? We know that women are having so many problems with
infertility, PMS, fibrocystic breasts etc. and this little cream can make
such a difference. What if it can really help women who are breastfeeding
and told to stop because of depression? I have to do a lot of research but
it's a thought. Has anyone out there looked into it? Please e-mail me
privately. I do know that what we do not need is more estrogen!
