Hey there...I had a pleasant surprise yesterday when I received my NATION'S
HEALTH (the newspaper for the Am Public Health Association (APHA0--they also
have a journal called AJPH). On the back cover there's an article entitled
"Formula ads shorten breastfeeding: Women give up practice more quickly if
exposed to ads." It is just a quick recap of the study that appeared in the
Feb issue of the Ob and Gyn, but it also discusses the Healthy People 2010
goal and the current paltry rates of bf in the US.

Believe it or not, I have been working hard (as an APHA section councilor)
to bring bf to a higher priority for APHA. Even within public health (some
might say especially), there is so much room for improvement for bf.
