I am not sure of any AAP guidelines that says the Dr.'s need to keep infant in room. But if you do read through most of AAP policies at birth and newborn time period they mention keeping baby and mother together. As we are trying to change this as well here. I remind the pediatricains that when they go to the Pediatric Ward they don't remove the child from their room and place them in the treatment room. It is the same concept.
