I have seen some people put a tilde symbol (~) at the beginning of their
email address in the setup menu of your email program, so that machine
replies (which are what most internet junk mail is) would be
impossible.  Human beings would press the reply button and then edit out
the tilde before sending the message.  This is called a "spambot
blocker", as e-junk-mail is called spam.
