This is a misquote of Lucas's study in Lancet in the early 1970's of how
quickly babies removed milk from the breast. This is an ancient study
by medical terms, and was done before changes in milk composition over
time or multiple milk ejection reflexes in a feeding were understood.
Quoting this to a breastfeeding mother is akin to advocating
bloodletting for malaria.
