When I tandem nursed children about the same ages apart...there was a
strict rule. The baby goes first...every time. The reason, I told my three
year old is "because you can eat anything and she can only have milk
because she doesn't have teeth...

My three year old was very understanding of this. he would sit beside me
while I nursed her to sleep then climb up on my lap for his turn.

I agree with Kathy. This is a parenting problem, not a breastfeeding
problem. Interesting how many of those we run into!
