Pharmaceutical companies and Michael Moore

Gonneke, I didn’t make myself clear. I’m not talking necessarily about
reality or truth but about how things are perceived by others. And I am
relying on psychological research as reported by someone else, namely
Kevin Hogan. Let me take another stab at an explanation of the theory.
Most of the people I deal with are quite comfortable taking the products
of the pharmaceutical companies (pharmcos), their behavior indicating that
they trust the pharmcos to provide safe products. If I criticize the
pharcos as being unscrupulously profit driven, without concern for the
wellbeing of their patients, even tiny babies, will the person I’m
addressing believe me or think that I’m a bit extreme? I want to maintain
my credibility. Moore appears to have lost credibility with a significant
portion of the population. If Moore isn’t credible to the people you wish
to influence, he cannot help you.

It took me a long time and a great deal of study to arrive at the
convictions I have today. I respect that someone who has not had the
experiences and education I have had will not instantly grasp what it took
me so long to learn. I don’t want to be what we in the US sometimes refer
to as, “Preaching to the choir,” which means only getting through only to
those who are already convinced. I struggle to meet people where they are.

Does this clarify my meaning?
