Hello all: I am looking for any organization's guidelines or position
paper regarding use of recreational drugs and breastfeeding. AAFP
discusses methadone, and perhaps others do, too. I'm not looking for
"if a woman uses illegal drugs, she should not breastfeed," but rather
something more in the gray area. Has anyone come up with meaningful
guidelines on a individual drug basis and level of activity and
recovery basis and coalesced it into a working whole?

Arly Helm, MS, IBCLC
