This may seems obvious, or small, but I would say that a baby who is still
scratching is not over exzema. It may not be as bad as it was, but if he's still
scratching, he's both uncomfortable and expending extra calories while trying
to eat. Do we know that her supply is low, or it is possible that one
component of this is excess energy loss due to the baby being so fidgety? An LC
colleague worked with a mom here whose baby was so uncomfortable that he seemed to
scratch and fidget thimself into Failure to Thrive... Perhaps different meds
for the eczema, plus a diet review for the mom as well? Do you have any sense
of what might have triggered the exzema? I wonder what the baby's intake would
be if you were able to do pre and post-feed weights for an entire feeding. He
took nearly 2 ounces while you were there, so I wonder what the total intake
might be, same due to fidgeting/metabolic losses? or significantly more...
