"Cool Cabbage Compresses", Wendy Rosier R.N., R.M., B.App. Sci.
(Advance-Nursing Ed), Breastfeeding Review, May `1988

Outlines "successful clinical trials of cabbage leaves for suppression of
lactation, engorgement, excessive lactation and one case of incipient
mastitis." Author is a Lactation Consultant and Midwifery Educator Box Hill
Hospital, Victoria. Author wrote that she will be glad to hear of other
experiences.

In the Jerusalem Post last year, Toby Gish, Rn, IBCLC, Board Certified
Lactation Consultant, (LLLL and AAPL) and Silvie Ackerman, RN, Midwife,
Haifa, wrote a letter correcting the details in an article that had
appeared previously in the Jerusalem Post on cabbage leaves.

If anyone would like further details on the use of cabbage leaves for
engorged breasts in a hospital setting in Israel, Toby Gish
