Shalom,

Speaking as a computer person, I would like to compliment the organizers of
LACTNET, Kathleen Bruce and Kathleen Auerbach, for creating and keeping
this E-mail group at a good level. Having the opportunity recently to
survey news groups and the Web, I appreciate the organizers efforts. I
viewed about 200 new groups out of @ 2000 that presently exist today. I
have also looked at a lot of things out on the Web. May you have the time
and the energy to continue on.

I joined this group because of my own interest and because of my hope that
it would be helpful in my volunteer La Leche League work with breastfeeding
mothers. I am a LLL Leader and have helped moms for the past 15 years. My
personal experience comes from nursing six children. The rest of my
knowledge comes from LLLI conferences, published materials and many
contacts in the medical community. I do not have any professional
credentials in the health field, however, an M.A. and M.S. did give me
skills to do research and to persist until I find an answer. And I
certainly do enjoy doing that when helping mothers with difficult problems.

I have done a lot of administrative work for LLL and at present am the Area
Professional Liaison (APL)for La Leche League Israel. Living half way
around the world from many people involved actively and intensively with
breastfeeding problems and situations makes it hard to keep abreast on the
latest issues. Newsletters, journals, etc. do not always replace the
benefits of contacts with others doing the same thing. I hope that this
contact will allow all of us in LLL-Israel to keep better up to date with
breastfeeding news and experiences. With the personal permission of the
writers, as required by this group, I will share helpful entries with
others Leaders here via our local newsletter.

I will be very pleased to share with you our experiences that occur here in
Israel. From time to time, I may enter the questions of others here, who
have no possible access to E-mail and are eager to get some feed back on
unusual problems that they come accros.

Note: The name attached to my E-mail address is that of my husband and the
name of his business. I have daily access to this address.

Looking forward to reading more of your digests.

L'hitraot
