I use a protocol similar to Patricia's - using sage as a last resort after
trying one-sided nursing etc. However, I learnt just how potent sage can be
a couple of years ago. A mother asked about using sage from her garden
instead of store-bought ground sage. Having no experience with fresh sage I
could not advise her how much to take and suggested it would be safer to use
the ground sage. She decided to use the herb from her garden - took it once
(maybe twice - I forget) and her milk supply downsized quickly and so
dramatically that she could no longer meet her baby's needs. Her milk
supply never recovered despite her best efforts!
