My daughter has had outbreaks of these little nasties for years. They seem
to be self limiting and from what we have always been told, are not
contagious. No one else in the house has ever gotten them (even those who
share bathroom, towels, etc) nor has her fiance. She says even if she
scratches them and then scratches other places, they do not spread. Hers
seem to be allergy induced, and I don't know if that makes any difference.
They do not cause any discomfort.

Anecdotal information, but hopefully this is helpful in pleading your case
to help a mom breastfeed!

Zucker-also working for us at Morrisania as a Dietitian. Isn't that fun for
a mom?
