I like the idea of Scientists Stamps. But these stamps don't do much to
show the joy and passion of Science or scientists.

Compare the dark design and black and white photos of unsmiling
scientists to the smiling face of Yip Harburg.

Wouldn't a photo of Barbara McClintock surrounded by colorful maize, or
photo of Richard Feynman as he presented to college students be more
appealing? These stamps promote the stereotype of scientists that
already keeps so many kids out of science.

On the bright side they are doing something and science itself is
receiving some nice new stamps. The advances in Aviation, Masterworks of
Modern Architecture and the Constellation stamps all look good.
