As someone before has mentioned, there is a fundamental problem with the
dimensions of supers in the first place, i.e., a 9 5/8" super takes 9 1/8"
frames.  There's a half inch left over (too much already) which gets split
between the top and bottom, depending on the manufacturer.  North American
hives are supposed to have top bee-space...
