  I believe what you are observing to be the time of day the buckwheat
flower releases its nectar.  Some years ago I then had my hands on a report
from an Agriculture Dept somewhere in Russia, with much detail around this
topic.  There was said to be a wide variation in the varieties of Buckwheat,
as well
