I have to say I ignore if the cane sugar they used was
fully refined or not. But I remember I tried to
discuss further the point with the beekeeper and he
suspected residues (because of incomplete refining
process ?) in sugar to be responsible for diseases.
Anyway, that was just his feelings (some would say his
experience). He had no real systematic diseases
records allowing comparison between different feeding
syrups.
