The few colonies that have responded to favorably to my prevention methods
and didn't swarm haven't had any more problems overwintering than the rest,
but they also always ended up superseding their queen anyway.



That's interesting and promising....  I have seen a lot of the same.  I
would never call it local adaptation,  just a trait that's being successful.
Seems that same trait is whats working in many areas, not just one or two.

Keep in mind I was not trying to dismiss you success,  just define it
better.  If brood breaks and manipulations work well for you to remain TF,
fantastic!..  The key is we don't sell that to the general public as TF,
but as management tactics.  Unfortunately,  trying to get hobbyist to
understand management tactics is difficult.
