I have found that swarms tend to pick piles of empty boxes at least four 
high to settle into. I have (too many) dead outs that are two boxes high and 
they never pick them, even though they have drawn comb and a nice bottom 
board with an entrance reducer. All they seem to care about is that it be at 
least 3 feet high with a very small entrance hole - much like the old rotten 
trees they have lived in for several million years...
