Yes, very unfortunately. And I am one of those beekeepers too. Be aware! Do
not ever try them, as they possess a high risk of developing addiction ! 


This might surprise you, but Buckfast is (well, depends on the beebreeder
who selects them) more homozygous ( with higher coefficient of
relationship) and consistent over the generations (and whithin the
population) than many available pure bred races.
